29 CFR 1910.184(c)(4): Sling(s) were loaded in excess of their rated capacity: (a) On or about 11/21/2023 - Shop Area, the employer exposed employees to struck-by and crushed-by hazards, in that the employer failed to ensure the rated load of the rigging equipment selected and configured was sufficient for the load to be handled, based on the number of legs, hitch configuration, and effects of angles. The employer allowed the use of a grade 70 chain and hardware specifically used for binding loads during transport for overhead lifting and for the load.
