1910.134(d)(1)(i) The employer did not select and provide an appropriate respirator based on the respiratory hazard(s) to which the worker is exposed and workplace and user factors that affect respirator performance and reliability. On or about November 14, 2023, the employer did not ensure the selection of an appropriate respirator based on the respiratory hazard of unknown H2S environments/emergency operations and leak investigations or in atmospheres where the concentration of H2S could change rapidly. This condition exposed the employee to a potential H2S exposure hazard.
