29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying, chips and sparks: (a) On or about October 31, 2023, where the employer did not ensure the Capstan Metering machine belt-54, model: 80' CAT Track, S.O. no: 84399, Serial no. BQ 053, was adequately guarded. Employees were exposed to an amputation hazard: PRYSMIAN CABLES AND SYSTEMS USA, LLC WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD 1910.212(a)(1) OR ITS EQUIVALENT WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 166195, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM 2, THAT WAS ISSUED ON JANUARY 25, 2023, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 9975 US HWY 80 E, SCOTTSVILLE, TX, 75670. THE FINAL ORDER DATE WAS FEBRUARY 14, 2023.
