Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i): The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have: 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function; or a. On November 1, 2023, and prior, the employer allowed employees who were required to wear N95 respirators and who were overexposed to crystalline silica in the workplace to have facial hair that would interfere with the face to facepiece seal of the respirator.
