29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3) Periodic, complete, inspections of the crane were not performed at intervals as generally defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii)(b) of this section, depending upon its activity, severity of service, and environment, or as specifically indicated in section 1910.179(j)(4). These inspections shall include the requirements of paragraph (j)(2) of this section and in addition, the items identified in sections 1910.179(j)(3)(i)-1910.179(j)(3)(x) . Any deficiencies such as listed shall be carefully examined and determination made as to whether they constitute a safety hazard: (a) On or about September 6, 2023, and at times prior employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards where an overhead gantry crane was used and 14 months had passed since the last periodic inspection located at 3115 S. Central Avenue, Marshfield, Wisconsin. Marshfield Steel Holding Company, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1910.179(j)(1)(ii)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1397876, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 9, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 3115 S. Central Avenue, Marshfield, Wisconsin.
