29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Plant Floor - Mechanics Bench - One or more methods of machine guarding from the rotating chuck (350 RPM) was not provided for workers who operate the Milwaukee Drill Press (Serial #502A3204300039), thus exposing employees to ingoing nip points, rotating parts and flying chips. This condition was observed on or about October 26, 2023. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
