29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(4)(iii)(A)(3)(i): When moving containers of contaminated sharps from the area of use, the containers were not closed immediately prior to removal or replacement to prevent spillage or protrusion of contents during handling, storage, transport, or shipping. On or about August 2, 2023, In the biohazard room located at the East wing, the employer failed to assure the sharps containers were properly closed prior to removal. This exposed employees to needle stick hazards.
