Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.107(g)(2): All spraying areas shall be kept as free from the accumulation of deposits of combustible residues as practical, with cleaning conducted daily if necessary. Scrapers, spuds, or other such tools used for cleaning purposes shall be of nonsparking material: On or about July 31, 2023, at a facility located at 497 Maratech Avenue in Marathon, WI; scrapers and spuds used for cleaning purposes were not of nonsparking material. Handheld tools and a long-handled spud were used to scrape and remove overspray from the spray booth walls. Both tools were made of ferrous material which could cause sparks.
