29 CFR 1910.36(a)(3): An opening into an exit was not protected by a self-closing fire door that remains closed or automatically closes in an emergency upon the sounding of a fire alarm or employee alarm system: On or about July 14, 2023, the following exit openings were not protected by a self-closing fire door that remained or automatically closed: a) Hotel: self-closing fire door for exit access (stairwell entrance and exit discharge) was not kept closed and was blocked open by a wooden wedge. b) Hotel: first floor self-closing fire doors for exit access (into stairwells) did not latch so that they would remain closed. c) Convention Center: the exit opening into stairwell (exit access) at first floor was not equipped with self-closing fire door.
