29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about July, 24, 2023, employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 10 feet while performing roofing activities on a residential home located at 2575 Cypress Drive SE, Massillon, Ohio 44646. The employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof and the employer did not ensure it was three feet above the landing area. Ramos Exteriors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1366810, citation number 1, item number 3, and was affirmed as a final order on 3/7/19 with respect to a workplace located at 1133 10th Street NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
