29 CFR 1910.110(c)(5)(ii): Containers having a maximum water capacity of 2 1/2 pounds (nominal 1 pound LP-Gas capacity) are permitted to be used inside of buildings as part of approved self-contained hand torch assemblies or similar appliances. a) On or about November 14, 2023, and times prior, in the Freezer, janitorial staff used a 20-pound (20lb water capacity) propane tank that was connected for use to the Bernzomatic Blaze Torch (Model MT455/JT855) to melt ice off of the Freezer floor. The tank exceeded the 2 and 1/2 pound maximum water capacity for a propane tank used with a torch assembly inside a building.
