29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: A) HK Cooperative DBA J.H. Routh Packaging Co. on or about June 29, 2023, at the address of 4413 Bogart Rd, Sandusky, OH: The employer failed to ensure the rotating auger of the Gut Truck Auger was adequately guarded. Employees performing operation activities at or near the nip-points and rotating parts of the auger were exposed to caught in / crushing hazards. B) HK Cooperative DBA J.H. Routh Packaging Co. on or about June 29, 2023, at the address of 4413 Bogart Rd, Sandusky, OH: The employer failed to ensure the rotating auger of the Barrel Dumper Auger was adequately guarded. Employees performing operation activities at or near the nip-points and rotating parts of the auger were exposed to caught in / crushing hazards.
