Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees hands were exposed to hazardous condition(s): a. Alfred Nickles Bakery, Inc. - Lima, Ohio: On or about May 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees who changed the hinge and slab cutting blades for 400 Line slicer machines in the Finishing Department were protected from laceration injuries in that personal protective equipment for the hands was not used/provided. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
