Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about May 9, 2023, the employer failed to provide training to the maintenance staff in the recognition and mitigation of fall hazards prior to allowing them conducting work on the roof of the facility. The employee was working on the low slope roof of the facility patching holes with tar. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29CFR 1903.19(d).
