29 CFR 1917.44(e): Stop signs shall be posted at main entrances and exits of structures where visibility is impaired, and at blind intersections, unless direct traffic control or warning mirror systems or other systems of equivalent safety are provided: a. On or about 28 March 2023, at the marine terminal yard (patio), Luis Ayala Colon Marine Terminal, Puerto Nuevo Terminals, PR. Employees engaged in marine terminal operations were exposed to struck by and crush by hazards. Employer installed and posted stops signs that were small, faded and illegible in areas where the visibility from all ways were impaired. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
