29 CFR 1910.119(j)(4)(ii): Inspection and testing procedures did not follow recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices a) 66 Kettles Process - On or about March 27, 2023 the employer did not follow their recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices in that some lengths of piping had not been visually inspected every 5 years as recommended by employer's selected consensus standard API 570, 2009. The piping that had not been inspected contains a Category 3 flammable liquid, is co-located and interconnected to piping and equipment containing Category 1 flammable liquids. If the piping were to break, employees could be exposed to the potential burn hazards of fires, explosions, or deflagrations caused by leaking material. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
