29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance paragraph (b) or (c) of 29 CFR 1926.652. a) On the roadway in front of18193 Huff Road, Milton, DE 19968: On or about March 20, 2023, employees were required to work in a trench without an adequate protective system. Employees engaged in excavation work adding a new water main and fire hydrant to the expansion of the public water system. The competent person required employees to enter and work in an excavation without any means of protection being put in place to prevent employee exposure to cave-ins.
