Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) At the company's dock area of Sause Bros, located at 3710 NW Front Ave., Portland OR, on or about January 13, 2023 and at times prior there to, the man-basket in service at the time of the inspection that, according to the employer's representatives, was only used to hoist materials and equipment to the vessels, did not have a tag attached to its main structure nor had a legible tag with the information required for its safe use, that included but was not limited to the safe load and weight. Employees could accidentally overload the lifting device or the crane due to the lack of the required information and being exposed to struck-by hazard from falling equipment or materials and suffer fractures, head injuries, in the event of equipment failure during lifting activities.
