29 CFR 1910.138(a): Employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: (a) On or about 12/29/2023, at facility, for the swim instructors and lifeguards cleaning with corrosives such as, but not limited to, Clorox� Splash-Less� Bleach, containing sodium hypochlorite, to scrub off the grout on the pool deck, and bleach and vinegar, containing sodium hypochlorite and acetic acid, to clean the vestibule. The employer did not enforce the use of personal protective equipment for the protection of the extremities such as, but not limited to, gloves that are compatible with chemicals in use.
