29 CFR 1926.651(k)(2):Where the competent person found evidence of a situation that could result in possible cave-in, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions, exposed employee(s) was/were not removed from the hazardous area until the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure their safety. (a)3204 Crest Road, Harrisburg PA 17109 - On or about December 13, 2022 the onsite competent person did not ensure that employees conducting sewer lateral line repair work in the front yard of the residence proceeded with caution to dig once it was determined that there was an unidentified natural gas line in the dig area. An employee operated a Kobota mini excavator to dig at the dig area despite the gas line location not being determined. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
