29 CFR 1910.179(n)(2)(ii):The load shall be attached to the load block hook by means of slings or other approved devices. a) On or before 11/3/2022 the employer did not ensure that employees loading steel coils (weighing approx. 2500 lbs.) onto the Fecker decoiler 's mandrel (Auftr. Nr. 07237), utilizing a Sortman 6 ton overhead crane (model # SX50410063P56FL0F), were protected from struck by hazards due to the lifting chains being unattached to the steel coils prior to attaching the coils to the mandrel.
