Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2):The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: At a worksite near mile marker 169.4 on southbound interstate 49 approximately two miles South of Belton, MO, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while operating motor vehicles equipped with truck-mounted attenuators in a mobile construction work zone. The employer exposed the employees to these hazards by allowing them to operate vehicles equipped with truck-mounted attenuators (TMA) without first providing adequate training to operate them.
