29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical On or around October 25, 2022, and at times prior thereto, in the facility's Fine Jewelry Repair Shop's workbenches, employees were exposed to injurious corrosive and toxic materials that were not appropriately labeled to warn employees about the hazardous nature of the contents. The secondary containers were either not labeled with product identifier and hazard information or labels were were worn and illegible. The specific instances are: (a) In the jewelry area at workstation benchtop: Secondary container containing Boric Acid Powder with damaged/illegible HAZCOM label; (b) In the jewelry area at workstation shelf: Secondary container containing Acetone with damaged/illegible HAZCOM label; (c) In the jewelry area at workstation benchtop: Secondary container containing Flux Batterns with damaged/illegible HAZCOM label; (d) In the jewelry area at workstation benchtop: Secondary container containing Acetone with damaged/illegible HAZCOM label; (e) In the jewelry area at jewelry electroplating workstation: Five (5) secondary containers containing Rhodium electro-plating solutions (Black/White/Blue/Yellow Gold/Rose Gold) with no HAZCOM labeling; (f) In the jewelry area near steam cleaning workstation: Secondary container containing Acetone with no HAZCOM labeling; (g) In the jewelry area at workstation benchtop: Secondary container containing Flux Batterns with no HAZCOM labeling; and (h) In the jewelry area at workstation benchtop: Secondary container containing Flux Batterns with no HAZCOM labeling.
