29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about September 8, 2022, employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 20 feet while performing roofing activities on a residential home located at 1472 W Clifton Blvd., Lakewood, Ohio 44107. The employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof and the employer did not ensure that it extended three feet above the landing area. All Sides Construction LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1268494 citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/18/17, with respect to a workplace located at 1722 Riverside Drive, Lakewood, Ohio 44107. All Sides Construction LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1486038 citation number 2, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/1/20, with respect to a workplace located at 2038 Bunts Road, Lakewood, Ohio 44107.
