29 CFR 1910.176(b): Secure storage. Storage of material created a hazard. Boxes stored in tiers were not stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they were stable and secure against sliding or collapse. a) On or about September 7, 2022 and times prior-to stacked boxes of merchandise in the back store room reached over 9 feet in height exposing employees to struck by falling object hazards. b) On or about September 7, 2022 and times prior-to stacked boxes of merchandise in the back store room were not blocked, or interlocked exposing employees to struck by falling object hazards. Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1438186, citation number 2, item number 3, group a, and was affirmed as a final order on April 16, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 4428 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022.
