Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i):Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) Plas-Tec Corp. on or about July 13, 2022, at the address of 601 W. Indiana St. Edon, OH: The employer's energy control procedure for #13 plastic injection machine, failed to identify and include procedures to isolate the buildup of pressure created by the heating of plastic within the heat barrel. Employees performing maintenance/servicing activities such as but not limited to clearing a blocked injection nozzle, without the benefit of energy control, were exposed to burns from pressurized molten plastic.
