29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: At the workplace located at 3400 Enterprise Avenue, Joplin, Missouri 64801, employee's were exposed to amputation and caught-in hazards. The employer did not ensure that employees who are feeding the paper tube through the gusset spreaders of the 1/6 handle bag machine were protected from point-of-operation hazards. The open roll cylinder and cutoff knives were not properly guarded to prevent inadvertent employee contact.
