Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) are not kept free and unobstructed. a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent fire and entrapment hazards as demonstrated on or about April 12, 2022 at 5768 Three Notch Road Mobile, AL, in the receiving/storage room, where employees work the merchandise. The far-left emergency exit door and the exit door between the receiving room and the main sales floor was obstructed by store merchandise, roll-tainers, and U-boats, impeding direct means of egress for employees in the event of an emergency. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all emergency exit routes are kept unobstructed and free from product to ensure a safe walkway for employees to exit the emergency exit door in case of an emergency.
