29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, service rooms, and walking-working surfaces were not kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. (a) On or about March 11, 2022, in the block cutting area of facility, wood dust accumulation at and around the DeWalt 14" mitre saws, and on adjacent storage racking horizontal surfaces was not regularly cleaned up, exposing employees to fire and combustion hazards, and inhalation of toxic chemical hazards. Exterior surfaces of the saw, and the work areas horizontal surfaces around the saw were covered with an adequate layer of wood dust to facilitate ignition when sparks are created as a result of metal on metal contact that occurs when the saw cuts through metal such as nails and staples, or can also result from the heated blade motor that was covered in wood dust. (b) On or about March 11, 2022, in the pallet dismantling area of facility, wood dust accumulation at and around the Wood -Mizer pallet hawg PD200 Pallet dismantler band saws, and on adjacent storage racking horizontal surfaces was not regularly cleaned up, exposing employees to fire and combustion hazards, and inhalation of toxic chemical hazards. Exterior surfaces of the saw, and the work areas horizontal surfaces around the saw were covered with an adequate layer of wood dust to facilitate ignition when sparks are created as a result of metal on metal contact that occurs when the saw cuts through metal such as nails and staples, or can also result from the heated blade motor that was covered in wood dust.
