29 CFR 1910.124(h)(4): Employees working with chromic acid were not provided with periodic examinations of their exposed body parts, especially their nostrils: PHOS Area: On or about February 24, 2022, employees who were responsible for loading racks of metal pieces into chromic acid tanks and collecting samples from this tank for laboratory analysis, were not provided with periodic examinations of their exposed body parts, especially their nostrils. Employees in this area perform this operation every day throughout their 8-hr shifts and are at an increased risk of developing nasal perforations from repeated exposures.
