29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): a) Production Yard Area (Mechanic Shop): On or about January 11, 2022, and times prior; the employer required employees to perform storage operations without fall protection on an elevated platform with an unprotected edge; exposing employees to fall hazards up to approximately ten feet (10') to the concrete floor below. b) Production Yard Area (File Room): On or about January 11, 2022, and times prior; the employer required employees to perform shipping/receiving operations without fall protection on an elevated platform with an unprotected edge; exposing employees to fall hazards up to approximately fifteen feet (15') to the concrete ground below. c) Warehouse Area (Grey Rack System): On or about January 11, 2022, and times prior; the employer required employees to perform rack storage operations without fall protection at the end of the second level storage area with an unprotected edge; exposing employees to fall hazards up to approximately seven feet (7') to the concrete floor below.
