29 CFR 1926.200(g)(1): Construction areas were not posted with legible traffic signs at points of hazards: a) On or about 11/23/2021 at a utility project located along Genesee Road in East Concord, New York; employees hydro-excavating for new utility poles had placed their truck along the shoulder and partially in the east bound lane of the road. The employer did not provide advance warning to road users that road work is taking place or what actions the road user must take to drive through the work zone, thereby exposing employees in the work zone to struck-by hazards. b) On or about 11/23/2021 at a utility project located along Genesee Road in East Concord, New York; employees hydro-excavating for new utility poles had placed their truck along the shoulder and partially in the east bound lane of the road. The employer did not follow MUTCD Section 6C.10.01 which stated, "Except as provided in Paragraph 5, when traffic in both directions must use a single lane for a limited distance, movements from each end shall be coordinated", exposing workers on foot to struck by hazards from vehicular traffic.
