29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Cummins Inc. dba Cummins Sales and Service at 8213 E 96th Ave, Henderson, CO 80640: On or about November 8, 2021, the employer did not adequately protect employees from point of operation hazards. The employer failed to protect employees from injury in that an employee operating the Cincinnati Mechanical Shear sustained a laceration injury to their hands when reaching into the point of operation to hold material being cut by the machine. This condition exposed employees to lacerations and amputations.
