29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) American Strip Steel Inc.- Slitter machine Area: The Coil Unloading car S/N 28730-22 (460 Volts) and The Coil Loading car S/N 28730-11 (460 Volts) had unguarded backsides that protected the machine(s) moving parts and electrical components, observed on or about 08/04/2021. b) American Strip Steel Inc.- Cutting Machine Area: The Red Bud Cutting Machine (RBI) is not guarded between the coil staging area and the Coil Stretch Leveler to prevent operators from accidental exposure to pinch point areas or falls to the pit of the cutting machine, observed on or about 08/04/2021.
