29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3): Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics, except in topics which the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace. 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(i): Truck-related topics: 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(i)(J): Any vehicle inspection and maintenance that the operator will be required to perform; a. On or about September 14, 2021, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that powered industrial truck operators received training on the vehicle inspections that they were required to perform. As a result, employees were exposed to struck-against and struck-by hazards associated with damaged forklifts in operation.
