Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1928.57(a)(7):Methods of guarding. Except as otherwise provided in this subpart, each employer shall protect employees from coming into contact with hazards created by moving machinery parts as follows: a. On or before June 28, 2021, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from coming into contact with the rotating conveyor belt and roller of the North Tunnel Belt conveyor. On June 20, 2021, an employee reached through the unguarded adjustment opening on the tail end of the conveyor when the conveyor restarted, resulting in an amputation of the employee's right arm.
