Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(8)(i): Electric equipment shall be firmly secured to the surface on which it is mounted. Note to paragraph (b)(8)(i) of this section: Wooden plugs driven into holes in masonry, concrete, plaster, or similar materials are not considered secure means of fastening electric equipment. a) On or about April 21, 2021, four wound transformers (AKA current loop transformers) with exposed conductors carrying alternating current at 130 volts and 37 amps at each transformer were setting unsecured on top of an unsecured rolling cart. b) On or about April 21, 2021, three 15 amp fuses and three 4 amp fuses with exposed conductors were secured to a piece of wooden board which was placed unsecured on top of an unsecured rolling board on the floor. There was alternating current at 37 amps and 208 volts going into the fuses. c) On or about April 21, 2021, three enclosures used to divide the wiring into 3 phases from a plug-in receptacle carrying alternating current at 37 amps and 208 volts were placed onto an unsecured wooden board.
