29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them. Location: Jobsite On about February 8, 2021 The employer did not maintain a safety program which provided for frequent and regular inspection of this jobsite by a competent person when an employee was seriously injured while working in a steel soffit that was not structurally designed to support the load imposed on it by employees conducting demolition operations.
