29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): The employer does not protect each employee required to work from elevations during residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels by providing and ensuring the use guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or providing alternative fall protection measures under provisions of paragraph 1926.501(b): a) This most recently occurred on or about January 5, 2021, 155 Fore Castle, Medina, Ohio 44256. Employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately two stories (20 feet) from the roof of a residential home during the installation of roofing materials. To abate this hazard in the future, the employer must ensure employees are provided with, and required to use, fall protection in accordance with this standard, and that no employees are permitted to work from elevations until protection is provided. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from fall hazards.
