Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(ii):The top edge height on all suspended scaffolds where both a guardrail and a personal fall arrest system were not between 36 inches (0.9 m) and 45 inches (1.2 m) above the platform surface: Note: For supported scaffolds manufactured and placed in service before January 1, 2000, and on all suspended scaffolds where both a guardrail and a personal fall arrest system are required, the top edge height should be between 36 inches (0.9 m) and 45 inches (1.2 m) above the platform surface. When conditions warrant, the height of the top edge may exceed the 45-inch height, provided the guardrail system meets all other criteria of paragraph (g)(4). On or about 12/31/2020, and at times prior, employees were exposed to 12-foot fall hazards when working from a Uline forklift aerial platform Model H-2772 in that the height of one top rail measured 35 inches and another top rail measured 36 inches in areas that were damaged/bent.
