29 CFR 1910.147(d)(2): The machine or equipment was not turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment: Location: DIPS Filler Machine Room On or about December 3, 2020, the employer did not adequately and clearly communicate to machine operators specific LO/TO procedures for clearing a lid jam in the DIPS Filler Machine. An employee was injured when the DIPS Filler Machine was not turned off or deenergized properly prior to removing a lid jam. Employees engaged in removing lid jams are exposed to in-running nip points along the DIPS machine chain track. Cedars Mediterranean Foods, Inc. was previously cited for a substantially similar violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(B), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1257253, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/18/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 50 Foundation Ave, Ward Hill, MA 01835. Cedars Mediterranean Foods, Inc. was previously cited for a substantially similar violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1257253, citation 1, item 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/18/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 50 Foundation Ave, Ward Hill, MA 01835.
