29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, travel restraint system or personal fall arrest system: (a) Employee(s) engaged in stepping from an 8 foot step ladder to the ceiling level brick wall surface in the shipping/receiving office located at 100 N. Youngman Road, Baxter Springs, Kansas were exposed to a fall hazard approximately 102 inches, due to no fall protection system being used. (b) Employee(s) engaged in walking on the ceiling level brick wall surface from the shipping/receiving office to the trucker's lounge located at 100 N. Youngman Road, Baxter Springs, Kansas were exposed to a fall hazard approximately 102 inches due to no fall protection system being used (c) Employee(s) engaged in performing maintenance on a hot water heater while standing on the ceiling level brick wall surface in the trucker's lounge located at 100 N. Youngman Road, Baxter Springs, Kansas were exposed to a fall hazard approximately 102 inches due to no fall protection system being used. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement for the above violation was verified at the time of the inspection, no certification is required.
