29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: (a) The Brooklyn Hospital Center located at 121 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11201: On or about 11/06/2020, the employer required transporters to wear N-95 respirators to protect against the SARS-CoV-2 virus while transporting suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients. Transporters facial hair came between the sealing surface of the N-95 facepiece and the face. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY.
