Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.502(a)(2):The employer did not provide and install all fall protection systems required by this subpart for employee(s) and did not comply with all other pertinent requirements of this subpart before employee(s) began the work that necessitates the fall protection: a) Jobsite - 2024 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA - The employer did not ensure that all employees working on top of an elevator car were protected against falls of approximately one hundred (100) feet above grade by means of personal fall arrest systems, independent lifelines, guardrails or similar systems thus exposing employees to fall hazards. An employee working atop an elevator car suffered severe injuries after the elevator car he was dismantling fell 100 feet. Observed on or about 06 AUG 2020.
