29 CFR OSH Act of 1970 Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment that were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that the employer did not protect employees from the recognized hazard of being struck by: On or about January 15, 2020, the employer did not ensure that an employee operating a forklift slows down for a turn at an intersection in the warehouse in accordance with ANSI 56.6-2005. Among other methods, several feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards include, but are not limited to: 1) placing top signs at the intersections the forklifts travels, and 2) placing mirrors at these intersections to improve the visibility of the forklift drivers and pedestrians.
