29 CFR 1928.57(b)(1)(iii): Power take-off driven equipment shall be guarded to protect against employee contact with positively driven rotating members of the power drive system. Where power take-off driven equipment is of a design requiring removal of the tractor master shield, the equipment shall also include protection from that portion of the tractor power take-off shaft which protrudes from the tractor. a) 1081 County Route 1, Pine Island, NY- On or about June 18, 2020, while conducting mowing operations, an employee was operating a John Deer Tractor, with a mower attached to the Power-Take-Off (PTO), without a PTO guard in place, exposing the employee to an entanglement hazard.
