29 CFR 1926.859(g): During demolition, continuing inspections by a competent person were not made as the work progressed to detect hazards resulting from weakened or deteriorated floors, or walls, or loosened material. Employees were also permitted to work where such hazards existed without being corrected by shoring, bracing, or other effective means: A). on or about 02/20/2020, the site of 147-07 94th Ave, Jamaica, NY 11435 Employees performing demolition work were exposed to being crushed by a falling concrete beam. A competent person did not conduct continuing inspections to ensure that the beam was effectively controlled while being removed during demolition. WRITTEN ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
