29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): 300 Burnett Rd, Chicopee, MA: On January 30, 2020 and for years prior, employees were exposed to crushing hazards when they frequently operated two unguarded dumpster compacting machines. The Sustained Manual Pressure Control Button and the magnetic interlock safety gate features were not operational. On January 30, 2020, an employee was injured after being caught in the compaction zone during compactor operation.
