29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers are not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: Stock Room, Back of Store. On or about November 25, 2019, the portable fire extinguisher near the South exit door was not visible and readily accessible. Boxes of merchandise were stacked in an unstable manner directly in front of the fire extinguisher, obscuring its location, which could contribute to exacerbation of a fire. Employees are exposed to burns and smoke inhalation. There is no abatement documentation or certification required for this item. Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1393119, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on October 28, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 3565 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606.
