29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from amputation, and struck-by hazards. This was most recently documented on or about November 25, 2019 at CNH Industrial, LLC. located at 3301 S. Hoover Rd. Wichita, Kansas. The employer failed to adequately guard drill presses. Employees engaged in fabrication activities in the Experimental Fabrication and Tooling Shop were exposed to amputation and struck-by hazards in that machine guarding was not provided for the following drill presses to ensure employees' protection from flying chips and debris. 1) Ikeda Radial Arm Drill Press, Model #RM-1175, Serial #81509, and 2) Powermatic Drill Press, Model #1200, Serial #920V675.
